Beginning golf classes in Portland at Langdon Farms Golf Club

Beginning Golf Class, Level One – $199

Learn how to golf! Starting in July 2025, we'll begin our first series of Level One Beginning Golf Classes, led by Sean Lanyi our PGA Director of Player Development. This 4-week class teaches the basics to better understand how to Putt, Chip, Pitch and make a Full Swing. Expect to learn in a building block approach to make it a simple process towards improving and becoming a more complete golfer! This class is offered as a 4-week series, and meets once per week on either Thursdays or Saturdays (select your day when you sign up). This class will be offered in July, August, September, and October for the 2025 golf season.

Schedule: Thursdays (3:00–4:00pm), Saturdays (10:30–11:30am) — Limit of 6 participants per class.

Beginning golf classes in Portland at Langdon Farms Golf Club

Beginning Golf Class, Level Two – $199

Starting in August 2025, Level Two Classes are ideal for golfers that have completed Level One (or those who are joining for the first time as an intermediate player). This 4-week class allows you to continue your education and enhance your skill as you learn to master the fundamentals of the four shots in golf. Understand the ways to develop a pre-shot routine that ties into the way you play the game of golf. This class is offered as a 4-week series, and meets once per week on either Thursdays or Saturdays (select your day when you sign up). This class will be offered in August, September, and October for the 2025 golfing season.

Schedule: Thursdays (4:30–5:30pm), Saturdays (12:00–1:00pm) — Maximum of 6 participants per class.

Beginning Golf Class, Level Three – $199

Starting in September 2025, we’re offering Level Three Classes which are ideal for golfers that have completed Level One & Level Two (or those who are joining for the first time as an intermediate player). Utilize this 4-week class to build confidence in your abilities and to play the game of golf at a higher level. This class is offered as a 4-week series and meets once per week on Thursdays or Saturdays (select your day when you sign up). This class will be offered in September and October for the 2025 golfing season

Schedule: Thursdays (6:00–7:00pm), Saturdays (2:30–3:30pm) — Maximum of 6 participants per class.

On-Course Golf Class – $69

These single-session classes handle unique situations on-course, where golfers learn the proper adjustments you'll need to make. Guided by one of our PGA Academy Staff Professionals, you'll learn strategies for uneven lies, hitting shots into greens, unique shots around the greens and much more. Includes a 15-minute warm-up range session and golf cart. These classes are offered on Sunday mornings as single-session classes (not a series), from June - October for the 2025 golfing season.

Schedule: Sundays (8:00am–9:30am) — Maximum of 4 golfers per session.

Example: Station one – warm-up with 20–40 yard shots; Station two – full swing prep and in-play learning.

Precision putting practice classes through aimpoint express

Introduction to Learning AimPoint Express – $59

This exclusive introduction to AimPoint Express at Langdon Farms is perfect for golfers of any age or skill level. Improve green reading, start the ball online, and control putt pace. Learn a fast, efficient green reading approach for short putts and multi-breaking putts. Sean will guide each player through performance drills and routines for practice and play. These classes are offered on Thursdays and Saturdays as a single-session class (not a series), from June - October for the 2025 golfing season.

Schedule: Thursdays (1:00pm–2:00pm), Saturdays (4:00pm–5:00pm) - Maximum of 6 participants per session

Junior Golf Shots Classes – $99

Junior Golf Shots is a fun, engaging program designed for children grouped in ages 3–7 and 8–13. In this 4-week class, kids learn essential golf skills including etiquette, full swing, pitching, and putting, while building coordination and confidence. Sessions are held on Wednesdays, and begin the first week of every month from July-October for the 2025 golfing season.

Schedule:
3–7 Year Olds – Wednesdays (4:00–4:45pm)
8–13 Year Olds – Wednesdays (5:30–6:15pm)

Corporate Group Lesson Package

We are thrilled to host your next Corporate or Team Building Event at The Golf Academy at Langdon Farms, led by PGA Director of Player Development Sean Lanyi. Enjoy an entertaining group learning experience, covering specific skills or shots. Socialize and engage in a fun environment while learning how to Putt, Chip, Pitch, or make a Full Swing. Up to 12 people per outing, based on availability. Prices include coaching and range balls.

Bruce Furman is a distinguished PGA Professional and seasoned golf instructor.  With decades of experience in the golf industry, Bruce has earned a reputation for his exceptional teaching abilities and dedication to developing golfers of all skill levels.  Bruce employs a comprehensive teaching approach that includes video analysis and personalized instruction tailored to each student's needs.  He has a record of success teaching, mentoring, and developing golf students of all levels, including ‘high potential’ youth and adults. Bruce has coached numerous juniors who have received college golf scholarships.  His commitment to fostering talent and passion for the game has made him a sought-after instructor in the Pacific Northwest. 

Bruce holds several industry accolades, including ranked among the 'Top Golf Instructors in Oregon' by Golf Digest nearly every year since the inception of the award in 2002.  Most recently he has received this award again in 2024-2025.  He was voted as the number 1 teacher in the State of Oregon three times.

Bruce was also named the 2009 Pacific Northwest PGA Section Teacher of the Year and the 2009 Oregon Chapter PGA Teacher of the Year.

Sean became a Class “A” PGA Golf Professional in 2005 with an extensive background playing  Professional Golf.  Sean has a deep stable of players throughout the West Coast that have been developed from a young age to current Collegiate levels playing for numerous NCAA Men's and Women's College Golf Programs.  In addition to this, Sean works with numerous PGA/LPGA Players focusing solely on Putting, Green Reading and Short Game.  Sean invested 23 years as a Coach mentoring under Jerry King, Mike Malaska, Stan Utley, Jim Waldron and Travis Fulton.   Becoming one of the most recognized coaches in the game, holding Certifications with AimPoint Express Level III Instructor, Putt Doctor Instructor, SAM Puttlab Instructor, Gears Golf 3D Motion Capture and Boditrak Technologies.  

Lanyi has been recognized as a Golf Digest Top 50 Best Young Teachers in America, Golf Digest Best in the State of Oregon from 2019-2025, in addition to being recognized as a GRAA Top 100 Growth of the Game Teaching Professional setting him apart from all other coaches in the area.  Sean’s teaching approach takes into consideration the player’s unique goals and capabilities during each coaching session. His optimistic views as a coach, and friend will allow for a great partnership in your journey towards playing better golf. Michael Salisbury

Michael Salisbury has been teaching at Langdon Farms since the spring of 2020 with 6 years of coaching and teaching experience under his belt. A 4-year member of the Warner Pacific University golf team, Michael was team captain his senior year and helped the team bring home the first two team wins in school history. Michael enjoys teaching students of all ages and skill levels. He focuses on all aspects of the game; including: full swing, short game, and course strategy.

$99.00 – for a 4-week session

Each session runs for 4 consecutive weeks. Each lesson lasts 45 minutes.

We have a 4:1 child to coach ratio.

Yes. We offer private and custom semi-private coaching to juniors of all ages and skill levels.

We welcome children starting at age 3.

Yes, we provide clubs for all players. However, children are welcome to bring their own.

If you're unable to attend your chosen session, please notify us at least 2 weeks in advance.

We currently do not offer make-up classes. However, if you continue in the next session, we can prorate for up to one missed class.
